A Book Birthday Party!
Dear Friends, its a party! Remember parties?
I mean, it will still be on CrowdCast. But, still, it’s a party! Hosted by Moon Palace Books on February 5 at 7 PM Central, in celebration of the release of my memoir, The Part That Burns.
I will be joined by two AMAZING writers, Maggie Smith, whose poem “Good Bones” rocked the world a few years ago and is even more relevant now than it ever was, and whose latest collection, Keep Moving, offers a luminous meditation on how to get through the most excruciating life experiences. Also, Michele Filgate, whose anthology What My Mother and I Don’t Talk About was one of NPR’s best books of 2019.
Maggie and Michele and I will do short readings, followed by conversation about the role of narrative—both the writing and reading of stories—in shaping our lives and helping us become the fullest version of ourselves.
Plus, we’ll have delicious live music from the fantastic singer/songwriter Brianna Lane whose voice never fails to reverberate with everything that makes the world better.
I really hope you’ll come! You can begin by joining the event on Facebook (if you are still on Facebook), and, if not, you can watch my website and this newsletter for the CrowdCast link when it become available.
With love and gratitude,
Jeannine
